In the name of running

I've been running for a long time since I was in high school. Back in Malaysia, I could run all year around, but when I moved to US nine years ago, my running routine was interrupted by the climate. During the cold weather, I couldn't run. Living in Boston, I've witnessed hard core runners who run in the rain, light snow and cold weather. I enjoy running, but I am not that bold to risk of getting injured or sprain my ankles because of the slippery or crack in the sidewalks. Once,I ran in 50 degree temp., and I didn't like it.
Now, I run outdoor in late spring, summer and early fall. But, I still enjoy running.:D

I love running

I just completed my first year of regular running. I started running to lose weight and become a better soccer player. So far, I have done a little of both. I love the feeling I get when I am out there, and when I am finished. I wish the non-runners could get it!;)

I have to admit, Photocat, that I feel much better after a good run. When I've been depressed, it's helped balance things just a tad...

Have you ever tried mountain running? A few friends and I have gotten into this lately - running and cycling up and down mountains. Though I enjoy flat races too, this has been a little more invigorating to me. There's something really spectacular about taking a moment of rest on a clear peak where you have a view. Perhaps worth a try?

I was actually inspired to try this after reading a this past winter called "Mud, Sweat, and Tears" by an Irish runner - Moire O'Sullivan. This woman went on such a journey. Who knows, perhaps running will take me far and wide as well!
