These are just topics that I am interested in. Is anyone out there teaching their baby sign language? How is it going? Have any of you introduced sign language with a toddler who was already speaking? How did you start?

Yes. We teach all four of our children sign language. Our oldest son is deaf and the rest of our children have been exposed to sign.
As babies they picked up the sign first (baby signs) and as they got older, temporarily delayed it, as their spoken language developed (around 2) I've also noticed that their receptive skills were BETTER than expressive. By around age four they could sign up a storm! Signing does NOT interfere with spoken language development.
We started by sitting around the tv after dinner as a family and watched "Signing Conversation" videos. It was fun! (Sorry, I can't remember the name exactly of the video, but you could check out online beginning sign language videos.)
