Is your child normal? Precocious? How do you tell?

<font size=4>I just have to <font size=7>BRAG!!!!!<font size=4> Strata said her first word yesterday...and it was Mama

I'm so happy! Nate's first word was "yuck". This is such a good surprise. Her voice is the sweetest thing in the world when she says it.

Okay, I'll stop bragging now but I don't think I'll stop being happy for a few more weeks <font size=3>

And now it starts... <g>

Very cool Hilie!!

The other day we were at the clinic and there was a little baby who was just starting to talk. She said "mama" and a bunch of indistinguishable syllables that I'm sure she thought were comprehensible speech

It was just so sweet! I said something to the mom because you couldn't help but just love this little baby and her speech.

The baby is talking! Well, kinda lol

He does this really highpitched ungh sound when he wants your attention and a lower, shorter version when he's talking to you. It's so neat!

There seems to be such a long time between posts on this board now. I haven't logged on for years--since my first son was born--but it seems to me it used to be a lot more active around here! I have a son who is almost 4, and a son who is 8 mos. and just starting to crawl. He has said "mama" for quite a while now, but it's his only word. My 3 yr old, however, is never quiet--so it may discourage the baby! Hope to talk to some of you--

Hi Becca. Some discussions are quieter than others. Thanks for reviving some of the dormant ones!

Sounds like you have a great family Becca. Mine are older now, but that sounds about right developmentally. I have 2 sons too, I wish you luck. The house will never be the same.
