Hello there.

Hello all,

I'm Tefra, 32, living in South Wales with my husbands and animals (two cats, three chickens and two hives of bees). I'm originally from Devon and missing it terribly, along with all my friends, live in sticksville and don't drive so getting out to meet people is more difficult.

Now hoping to make some female friends online.

Hi Tefra and welcome.

Am very new here too, and believe it or not live down here in "Deepest Darkest Devon"!

Must confess I have only ever heard of Sticksville in the USA.....But I guess funny things and names still happen up there in Wales!!

Look forward to "seeing" you around here from time to time.

Hello Solitaire,

It's a small world, what part of Devon are you in? I grew up in Newton Abbot but spent a good few years also in Dawlish and Exminster.

I actually currently live about 20 miles north of Swansea, sticksville is just my way of saying it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful countryside but doesn't feel like home just yet. Would love a place in Chagford but it's very expensive.

Nice to "meet" you.

We live on the outskirts of the tiny little village called Murchington, very close to Throwleigh, right on the very edge of Dartmoor.

Actually Chagford is not that far from us, literally just a few miles to be honest.

Now I seem to remember visiting the Stowey Arms in Exminster, and the Devon Arms in Kenton, but for the life of me I cannot remember any of the "Watering Holes" in Dawlish!!

Strangely enough though we will be at the "Langstone Cliff Hotel" next month for a friends wedding.

As you say, it is an extremely small world indeed.

Uh oh . . . we have Brit-talk here now! And it's fun! It's really cool to be in a small world. I welcome both of you in, but have a question for you two girls. Do you like Monty Python as much as I do?

Hehehe....This could just be the beginning of a "Take Over" here!!

Lol.....Of course I am far too young to remember it the first time round, however I have seen repeats of it over the years, and I must admit I do find them extremely funny.

And then there is the full length feature films as well.

In many ways, far more entertaining than some of the "Rubbish" we have today.

Hello Jennifer23, Wolf_angel and Synful_Poet, nice to "meet" you all.

To be honest Solitaire I don't know whether half the pubs in Dawlish are even there any more. The Swan used to be nice but I hear from my brother that it's struggling now.

It's funny that you mentioned the Stowey in Exminster, my parents used to run The Royal Oak at the other end of the village. That would have been between 1989 and about 1993 though.

I do enjoy Monty Python, Jennifer23, though I grew up on things like The Two Ronnies and Red Dwarf. I've never seen it but I hear that Mr. Show with Bob and David is quite a lot like Monty Python.

I love Brit-talk! Girls, tell me what your fav Python film was. (The Holy Grail, Life of Brian, etc.) I'm too young to have seen the original shows from "The Flying Circus", but my Dad is a huge fan and taped them. "Well . . . there IS that!"

Hello Tefra, nice to meet you. I'm new here too and I also feel like I don't meet new people around me because I don't have enough free time and would be happy to meet new friends here.
