Race for the Cure

This past weekend, I ran in the local Race For The Cure 5K. It was the 7th local race--I've been in each race--and was really great.

Has anyone else walked/run/volunteered in any of the Susan Komen Race for the cure, either as a survivor, as simply because of its importance?

((((((rjsfeminist))))))))) just because.

Have not walked for "the cure", but have gone to benefits for it.

When working met one of the most courageous woman ever. A teacher with so much class. Janet had been diagnosed with breast cancer at a fairly young age. No matter what she went though her strength in carrying on was incredible.

Janet was a recipient of the Susan B Korman foundation Award. For her courage, and work in the breast cancer field.

Janet passed away 3 years ago in Sept. Her family and friends still have functions in her name to help find the cure.

Another friend of mine was diagnosed a year ago. She is doing ok at this time. Keeping an eye for changes etc.
