Are there Mysteries of Life that puzzle you? Post them here. Maybe someone will have an answer. Maybe even the right answer. You never know!

I think...

...that the change in pressure created by the water being sucked out of the machine before the rinse cycle keeps the dispenser ball closed, and that when the rinse water begins to fill, the change in pressure forces the rubber stopper inside the ball, thus releasing the softener into the rinse water.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? That darn question has haunted me since I was a child!

Okay, I wasn't QUITE right about the Downey ball...Rick found this answer on the web:

"According to my new-found friend Mary with the USA Consumer Correspondence
Team (aka Proctor and Gamble), "when you add a Downy Dispenser to your
washload, it floats on top of the water among the clothes in the wash cycle.
The force of the spin cycle causes the valve to open. The ball then drops
down into the bottom of the washer, where it fills with water as the machine
fills and the Downy is dispensed into the rinse water."

Why do half the stores in town carry "refillable vanity packs" of Q-tips but NOBODY has the refills?

Why do cars with electric window controls often have a one-touch open for the driver's window, but not a one-touch close?

How come when you ask your child to do something they go out of their way to do the opposite?

I didnt when I was a child.... I know I didnt. Well maybe sometimes but not often.

Phantasy....its called "testing their limits with you" They all do it...including you!

Ofcourse being the Mother of two kidlets myself....I have learned if I have to say it a second time the trick is to make a threat like " If you don't pick up your room now you will have to go to bed at 7pm" Now if they don't pick up the room as you so nicely asked then 7pm is bedtime...believe me it won't happen again the next time you ask!

kathe,
Don't know about the qtips, but I have the same frustrations about Clue Game refill tablets.
ANyway, with those one touch windows, if they were one touch both ways than you would only have one option open, or closed. Since one way isn't one touch, you can stop teh window half way down

1. Why can't women put on mascara with their mouths closed?

2. Why don't you ever see the headline.. "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

3. Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavoring and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

4. Why is s boxing RING square?
