9 MONTHS! and counting!

So, today - a hard day at work. I work for a 70-year old woman who is like a bull dog with a bone sometimes. Today, I was the bone. sigh. So, by the end of the day, I had pretty much reached my limit of tolerance. I have been yelled at, talked to like an idiot, been made to know i was incompetent, and that while I am only one person, I am expected to do at least five other people's jobs, as well as my own..and it had better be done BEFORE she asks if it's done (which by the way is before she tells you it needs to be done too!) sigh.

Anyway... somehow... he read in my emails that I was having a tough day. Reading between the lines, he decided that I needed a hug. I didn't know this.

I left work at normal time, and walked to my car. I am the first to arrive, so I am also the first to leave. So, I knew I'd be alone in the parking garage, and I knew it would be ok to let the emotions that have been building all day go now. So, on my walk to the parking garage, I finally let the tears fall. Tears of frustration, pain, worry, and plain exhaustion. As I walked to my car, I really wasn't paying attention to the cars around me - bad I know!! - and before I knew it, I was at my car. I hit the unlock button on my key chain, and a voice behind me said, "Awww.. Grace... it'll be ok." this said as his arms came around me. All the sudden, it was really ok to cry, and he held me while I did. When I was done, I asked him how he knew...he said he read between the lines of my emails today, and just felt like I needed him.

Do you KNOW how long it's been since someone has held me while I cried??????????????? Grief..if I wasn't already in love head over heels with him, tonight would have definitely cinched it!!

After 9 months, I feel so very lucky to have found someone who not only really cares about me and my kids, but SHOWS how much he cares just by being there when I need him...

Oh PBS, Think I'm in love with him too.
Sorry you had such a rough day. Glad Bruce came though like a romance novel hero. He's good for you. Me thinks you're good for each other.

hmmm.. December 9th since I've updated this huh??? Ready??

Our first Christmas together was... there's no other word for it... FUN!!! It started well before Christmas with shopping for the kids and each other... We didn't go overboard, but it felt like so much more than ever before...does that make any sense??

He came to my house for Christmas Eve. He arrived at 11pm (yes, I was about asleep!) as he is a procrastinator of the worst kind and was wrapping presents until 10:30!! LOL! When he got there and had sat and relaxed for a bit, he brought out a little WHITE box and said, this is something special that I wanted to give you alone.

Diamond earrings... that's what they were, and I've worn them EVERY DAY since! LOL

Christmas day, he and Ray came over about 3pm, and we all exchanged gifts then. I got RED SQUARE PLATES!! I used them for dinner that night... which was Lasagna (as is our tradition and one that he said he would love to keep!) We were all DELIGHTED with the gifts, but for us (me and my two kids), the ATMOSPHERE was even BETTER. It was a FUN day, with games, relaxing, laughing, smiling, no tense eggshell walking!!

He pulled me into the kitchen towards the end of the evening and told me that this was the best Christmas he'd ever had...and I asked him why he said that...and he said... because we were so delighted with everything, and there wasn't a down face or a bad mood to be had, and that hadn't happened for him ever.

It was such a good day...and it reflects most of the days we've had together over the past 11 months. Yes, that's right..I said... 11 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!

I have watched Ray for him on several occasions while he goes to school, and once so he could just hang with the guys for football... And, we've gotten along well.

I just wanted to let ya'll know that my fairy tale is still just that... I sometimes feel like I've stepped into a world completely opposite of what I had been living...and each time I look around, I know I want to stay...ya know??
