Ovarian Cancer

It is one of the rarer cancers, hard to detect, and stikes mainly women over 50.

I get to go in on May 7th to have a doctor tell me when my surgery will be to see IF my little ole ovary is just misbehaving cause I'm old or if it more than just a benign. And the fun thing is when they do surgery one part is going to be removed and then they Might decide to remove more. You don't know til you wake up.

Had CT scan, and ultrasounds done. Now its time for the wonderful slice and dice part.

I'm not really scared just tired that the last few years its been one thing after another. Some very major and some minor. But it sure gets old fast.

I'm getting to that stage that my siblings really might become my parts <G> Remember how I would say in chat 'ya I got 5 brothers and two sisters THEIR my spare parts for when I need a newer body part' LOL.

My regular doctor has not done that blood test. The ultrasound was pretty clear to what it was. A solid mass. And blood flow was another concern. Ultrasound does a pretty good job in showing what it is Just gotta do the surgery to see what it truly is.

She refered me to a OBGYN cancer doctor. I'm sure he will do the CA125 blood test but that also comes back false postive so its a test they do but not truly reliable 100%.

Only way to find out with this type of mass is to remove.

My doctor is a sweetheart She is very clear about the mass and that it must be removed. She was more upset than me. But then again I'm calm about these matters. LOL its everyone that falls apart.

Well I fell apart a few days ago but it only lasted about an hour.

Besides at 57 I don't need these parts anymore. I'm not planning on kids until my next life time. (I do get new parts then right?)

But I tell ya DLC 'em siblings parts is looking mighty good! LOL

Well, hopefully they'll find it's just misbehaving. I know they usually do the blood work in conjunction with the scans/untrasounds/surgery since neither are absolute when determining ovarian cancer.

yesturday had to have my Coumadin monthly blood check, while waiting by lab my doctor walks by smiles at me then comes over and asks "How did the biopsy go?"
I said oh my appointment isnt til May 7th and she look all flustered then. LOL. Guess she thought just cause she referred me that I would get in quickly instead of taking a month.
She is just so dang cute and friendly she then said "well go in and tell Chris (her nurse) that I need to see you right after that appointment". Did and Chris says "silly Dr ____" she does Not have any opening til mid June. So I see partner on 16th. Which is fine she is really cool also...when Dr________ had baby last year I saw partner while Dr. was out on leave.

I really like these young hip doctors! My mother is just the opposite she hates young doctors fresh outta school.

update

the obgyn ordered the CA125 blood test.

Did another ultrasound mass is now 4.9 in ovary, not outside not on tube.

Surgery will be in a couple weeks, most likely everything will be removed. He is calling in partner that does the removing of everything surgery. They are then getting with my heart doctors and regular doctors cause of the heart stuff with me. Wants everyone on board to help me along I guess. Or thats just how things are done.

Most likely overnite stay, surgery next day and keep that nite then go home. Recovery period 6 weeks and a little more.

I didn't ask what they do after surgery. I didn't have the air for that.
