We've been listening to a lot of Ramones lately, after Joey's death on Sunday.

It got me thinking...the Ramones are a band that I never grew to dislike. They were what they were, and never sold out. "They stuck to their aesthetic," one friend of mine said recently, and that's exactly what I like(d) about them.

Celtic Music

Hi Everyone, My name is Ellie Blair, I am a Scot from Glasgow, presently living in Taos, New Mexico (quite a transformation). I broadcast a popular celtic Music radio show every Wednesday evening between 6 an 7 PM mountain time for my local solar powered station, KTAO 101.9 FM. The show can also be accessed on the web at globalsolarone.com. I often theme my shows around the wonderful women involved in Celtic Music today, and I get to share my culture with an interested audience. Join me if you can on a journey to ancient places and times.
I'm a new girl to WOW, best wishes to all.

((((((Ellie)))))) Nice to meet you! I'm a Brit from Manchester, and still living here, so I won't be able to catch your show But it sounds like fun! I wonder - do you still have a Scots accent? and how do the locals cope, if you do?

Right now - I'm listening to Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach, Painted from Memory

Hard to imagine a Scot without an accent...my mother-in-law has been here more than 40 years and she still has an accent!

I'm listening to ... nothing, alas.

I'm listening to Jimmy Buffett, "Barometer Soup."

"Lage Nom Ai" is the song playing at the moment. My favorite on the CD is, I think, "Barefoot Children."

We recently got digital cable, which includes a whole slew of music channels. One, called "Origens" (not sure the reason for the spelling) plays techno/trance type stuff, which I've always found fascinating. A band called D:Fuse was on the other day, so I hunted on Napster for some stuff by them and found a 83 megabyte piece that's an hour and ten minutes long...LOL. So I'll burn that on a CD and use it for walking and running, I think.

So, what's everyone else been listening to lately?

Talking

Listening to Sara Mclaughlin now.
When working I prefer a strong groove/beat/rythm.
I do like the song out by (?sp) Uncle Kracker right now (although it IS overplayed by this point, and it is about an adulterous relationship) Fun to sing along with --only px... I can only sing to it in the morning when my vocal cords are still relaxed LOL!
Like ABBA when on the treadmill, especially like the sound track from Pricilla Queen of the Desert when working out (yeah, like I work out sooooo much)
When I am outside sipping some wine in the evening, I like Tracy Chapman, Simply Red, 10,000 Maniacs, Enya, Moody Blues, John Tesh (yes I know I am a geek but his piano CD's are really good)
