Well, my son and I started going to Weight Watchers' several months back. We've got to take either 2 buses or a cab & bus to get there, but it's worth it. I've managed to lose about 6 pounds so far (2/10ths of a pound to a pound at a time), but my son (who needed to lose a lot of weight, due to a chromosonal problem) has lost about 30 pounds! He probably needed to lose 150 or more, so 30 pounds is far from making him anorexic. I keep letting him know how good he's doing.

rjsfeminist, way to go to both of you! It is always best to have someone else in the family or household going through the same weight loss regime. Who better to support you than each other

My girlfriend and I have started reading up on dr. phil's philosophy. Funny but just reading up on things is helping. My clothes seem looser (could be in the mind but i'm not knocking it). Neither of us are big on dieting but both of us know we need to change our lifestyle before we become total couch potatos.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

My son bought Dr. Phil's books on weight loss (including his cookbook), Ayla. Unfortunately, at the time, neither of us were as serious about the weight loss. Since we've started WW, he's dug the books out to help with recipes.

The funny thing is that since my son & I started doing this, my SO got on the bandwagon (he's lost 7 pounds just "tagging along"), as has my other son. So, what started as just 2 of us doing this for our health has actually turned into all 4 of us working on it.

Lots of support!

Question Need your opinion aka input please

If all of you wouldn't mind, I am in a dilemma. I have a choice you see and not sure what to do. I don't have much support here at the house regarding this so I will ask for your opinions.
I was contacted from L.A.Weight Loss Centers...I had used them before I did relacore. About coming back and paying for the take off drink 7.50 along with the supplements plus if I have any weight more than 40 pounds to lose. Which I know I probably do have. For I would get the 40 pounds for free, I still have the stabilization and maintenance weeks for free.
Or I can simply do the relacore which I know as well as the L.A. Weight Loss Center's diet.
Only thing is that I would get more support at L.A.Weight Loss than at home.
What would you do?
Thank you!
Have a great day!

Thumbs up Together WE Can Lose . Let's do it !!!

((((( Wolf_Angel)))))))) Weigh the pros and cons of both programs.

$spent on progam itself,
$ spent on suppliments,
$ spent on maitanance..

Which one works out better for you??

Which one gives you better support??

Which one would you stick to best??

susieB thought if we could get a group here.. for encouragement.. and help with ideas ... it would work out better. Better for each of us.

Only encouragement... and helpful ideas. NO discouraging words to another. POSITIVE feedbacks ONLY!!

Let's do it together.. Let's see how many we can get.. and go from square one. No matter what program each follows .. we can do this together.

What say Ye????

Low Fat Brownie Muffins

{{{Irish}}}

Ok, I am going to kick things off with a great recipe that I used alot when I was really doing well with my weight loss last year. I was sort of following my own version of the Weight Watchers diet - you know lower fat, etc..... anyways.... its been a while so it is probably a good idea to work out the points yourselves based on the nutritional amounts you find on the sides of the product boxes, but I am pretty sure they ended up being only 1 or 2 WW points per muffin, and they are awesome! Perfect with your morning coffee!

YUMMY and EASY Brownie Muffins

3 cups All Bran Cereal
2.5 cups water
2.5 tsp Baking Powder
1 pkg Betty Crocker Low Fat Brownie Mix

Preheat oven to 350

Soak All Bran in water for about 10-15 min
Add Brownie Mix and Baking Power and MIX

Fill Muffin pan and bake for 20-25 min

(((((((((SusieB))))))))
((((((((Liam)))))))))))

Wow look at what has happened!

Here we go helping one another with a major issue we all face at one time or another in our lives.

I personally need help in support and recipes.

I like to try new things mind you I dont like hot spices like chipolte (sp?)
yet I will try most things at least once.

I will let you know how it goes ok?

Have a great day!

Together WE Can Lose . Let's do it !!!

Well I have to share. Last night while chatting, nobeef came up with some awesome ideas....

rice cakes... good source of potasium!

So ...
rice cakes as a snack .... broken up served with yogurt as a dip.

rice cakes ... with cut up bananas, apples, any type of fruit you like.
She also mentioned soy yogurt. If you like soy products they are good to use. Not everyone does. That's ok too.
************************************
A quick thought about Salads!
**********************************8

A change in your salad.
top your salad with a melon mixture, yogurt, maybe sprinkled with coconut or some other concoction. Something you like that's nutrious and tasty.
Ex. Strawberries, grapes, cherries, any thing that you like in that category.
***************************************

If you'd like we can take Shampoo Corner on Fri nights.. Celebrate our successes, and encourage those who may have slipped a little that week.
I'm sure NanaWOW will approve (WEG).
****************************************Another thing
I remember watching Oprah's show one time about weight loss. The thing she stressed was NOT WEIGHING yourself for a few weeks, when you begin. That's gives your body a chance to adjust to the change in YOUR BETTER WAY OF EATING!
May I also suggest a digital scale.. they are more accurate as far as numbers. You actually see the numbers go down.
If you don't have one no prob.. Once again I bought mine at a yard sale for $3.00 ( the person was moving) those are the best sales to hit if you can.
****************************************
Let's share the recipes or ideas that we have. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

While sitting at the computer.. Are you
MOVING YOUR FEET, LEGS, pretend they are walking .. or riding a bike, or dancing .... DON"T TRY moving your right foot in a counter clock motion while moving your right hand in a clock wise motion , Hey, I said DON"T try it... ( I see you trying)

********* Ok now! Good luck! Keep posting.*********************

(((((((( Hugs to all )))))))) Together We Can Lose___ Let's Do It!!!! Wooohooo Here we Lose!!!

p/s Don't forget to drink lots of water.. water....water... water!!!! If you don't like plain water .. put a lemon in it. Drink flavored water... make sure you drink WATER.
