Thanks (((((ladies))))). I've been hovering between feeling very self-centered and needy for attention since I called. Then I really think about it, and if I'm calling public health for attention than I have a MAJOR problem lol It feels very strange to be setting aside appointment time (2 a week omg) just for me, it's a very guilty feeling. Of course I realize the benefits are for everyone. That is why I called, that is why I called, that is why I called....I just have to look at the kids and repeat that until I believe it

Thank you Annie Joan for the hello as many seem to not respond to me since I am new here! Frustrating part of coming around here. Seems to be a known group that is tight knit. That can be a great thing but can also exclude a new person from coming around so thanks for your breif comment to me.

DrHillieWho, I do hope that you still qualify for the program and I hope you get to feeling better soon. Is your situation a post partum ordeal? Are there other issues that are making life difficult?

Hope all gets better for you DrHillieWho.

Clara

Welcome Clara! I hope you find a lot of support here. You should check out the other parts of the board too, and meet the other posters. Some of the more popular folders are WomensSpace and LesbianSpace. Nice to meet you

Everybody doesn't read every folder...look around and see what other areas are interesting. Have there been other areas where people haven't responded to you, Clara? I thought people in this folder were pretty receptive and friendly?

Thank you Wahm wow for showing me another place to go. I have not posted too many times and am a bit timid. I am sorry. Liam Fan, I went to a new spot and I hope to hear some good words come back from it. If not, it is okay, I will keep trying. Thanks for your words anyways,

Clara

(((((( Hilie )))))) Best of luck with your doctor's appointment today. I'm also going to the doctor's today...but for my annual physical. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we were both at our docs at the same time?! lol

((((( London ))))) (((( WahmWOW ))))) ((((((LiamFan ))))))

Hi again, Clara. You have found a wonderful place here at WOW. Have you tried one of our chatrooms yet? They are fantastic. You can find me in WomensSpace most evenings and on the weekends (though I wasn't there most of this weekend as I had company from out of town). LondonLee and I both chat in WomensSpace and that is how we came to know each other first. WahmWOW is one of the hosts in WomensSpace. Whenever you see "WOW" at the end of someone's nic, it means they are hosts. ( You may have noticed this in the Meet the Staff folders.)

Clara, if you click on the "Women's Chats" button in the upper right hand corner of the pages, it will take you to the area that has a wealth of information such as how to connect based on your chat client, the chatroom schedules, etc.. I am a regular in WomensSpace as well as a bunch of others and we love having new people in the rooms. You will soon become a regular!! Our rooms are strictly G-rated and a no pickup zone and that's why our rooms are hosted a good deal of the time. I really encourage you to give the chatrooms a try. Between these boards and the chatrooms you will meet lots of wonderful women.

Hope to see you soon in WomensSpace.

Clara, I hope you don't feel like I was trying to ignore you. I was just in a very, err, self-centered spot when I posted Nice to meet you by the way, and hope to see you around the boards.

lol anniejoan My appt is at 4:45 pm so I'm not sure if a regular doctor will be around at the time. Ours are usually out of the office by 3:30. The appointment is supposed to take over an hour! Hopefully this woman gets to come into the office late.

Thanks again everybody, but now I have to go spam...spam....spam (Too bad London Lee doesn't have her own folder. I know some people that would really have a hey day )

Well, I had my mammogram today! I always feel good about doing that. It's like a hug I give myself.

Clara, this folder is called 'depression'. I generally don't post in here if I'm depressed though cause when I'm depressed I don't feel comfortable enough to share it. I've been in therapy for years now, and I deal much better than I used to, but trust me, we don't ignore people. Sometimes we read a post and those of us with depression just aren't up to posting that day. That was my case. I just wasn't up to it.

Today I feel pretty good though! With any luck, my son and his girlfriend will be moving into their own place on September 1. I should be very excited about that, but I'll miss them terribly. If I think about it too long, I won't be able to deal with the reality that all my kids are grown up now. What if they don't need me anymore? How will I ever deal with that? I need them.

Anyhow, I have group tomorrow night and I think I need it.

Everyone here can tell you that periodically I go off the deep end. I suspect we all do, sometimes, but when I do it here, it's because I feel safe here. I've been a member of this organization for 4 years and in all that time I've found so many friends and so much support that I can't stay miserable for very long.

{{{{{ Big Hugs All }}}}}

I agree tupi. When in the mist (brain cloud) of depression it is very hard to post here or encourage anyone. Most likely because you are fumbling around and can't find the right words to say. I am usually in a state of confusion when depressed.

But I come here in those times to feel not alone and to feel the caring of other human beings in the same plight. And during those times I don't usually post either.

Depression is a very selfish disease... always the "I". And I hate that.
There is not much I do hate but being selfish is one of them. And although you may think treatment is selfish.. it is the greatest step you can take in not being selfish. For when you are feeling better you have more of yourself to give.

Thanks a million for the support

Oh my gosh, you women are wonderful! Thank you for all of your notes. London Lee--thanks for the little note to start things off. As well, a big thank you to annie joan and to Dr hillie, of course Hillie, i hope you get to feeling well soon! Tupi, your words are much appreciated as when I am in MY cloud I think the world is all about ME! (and its not!) Antianna your words were also helpful. Thank you for the time in sending these notes to the board.

As for getting to a chat room? How on earth do I do such a thing? I have not figured it out yet, and I am really afraid to be honest. One of my online friends, said she came into a womens room once and they tore ser to shreds so I am a bit nervous even about the thought of it. Also, acceptance is a big thing for me, and if it takes a long time to "fit in" I will make sure I don't fit in and just get lost quickly, probably!

If someone has more info on what I need to do to get to the chat room please inform me as I am computer, lets say, Dumb! I know nothing about them.

Thanks for all of your time, and may blessings fall down upon all of you.

Especially those of you having rough waters to sail through.

Clara

Try going here http://wowwomen.com/chat/chathelp.html

mickey gave me the best advice when I first joined wow. She told me to just hang out, get to know people by saying hi, bye and welcome back.

Someone might say "Do I know you?" or ask you who you are. This may seem extremely confrontational, but they are really just asking if you are a regular roomie who has changed her nic. It happens every once in awhile. Just say that you are new, and you'll get a welcome It's really a friendly bunch of ladies. Oh, but newbies DO pay for pizza...just a warning

Chatterly ladies

I wandered into that room last night and I looked like a real goof in there. It was fun. I met some people like shana123, nobeef, rustytwo, sabra and a few others. It was really really fun.

Did you get to see a Doctor yet Dr Hillie Who? It sounded like in another posting that you had an appointment. Keep me posted on how you get to feeling.

Clara

My spirits are on the upswing, thank you for asking. Hope you've been feeling better lately.

I have been feeling a lot better just coming here. I do have a question for you however. Where do I go to find the womenspace board? I have looked all over for it this morning but cannot find it. Are you able to tell me where to go (snicker)?

Clara
The new girl who is settling in, even if it costs me a few pizzas.
