I've had people tell me to watch CNN or the Weather Channel. My new psychiatrist prescribed Trazadone for me since I have insomnia all the time. Within a half hour of taking it, I am sound asleep. When other illnesses flare up, I am up all night. UGH.

By the way, I'm back again! I seem to be missing in action quite a bit these days.

I took that for a while when I first started taking Celexa. That stuff gave me such vivid dreams and I couldn't sleep for it. So my psychiatrist also gave me that...it works VERY well, is supposed to be non-addictive, and you can't OD on it easily. Good Stuff if ya ask me!

It is good stuff. Since my gastro doc won't let me take my non-addictive pain meds, I have to take scheduled narcotics which are addictive. I used to have to take 450mgs of trazadone to sleep at all, but the other meds interact with it. I've dropped down to 300mg, but may need to go lower.

I did start a new med this week that is helping my current fight with depression. It helps boost my Effexor XR and it has really helped clear up my brain so I can think. Oh, it's Provigil.

Glad someone here has had direct experience with Trazadone...

And sorry for the cross-post. Okay, shoot me. Then ask me if I honestly care.

I know Trazadone is commonly prescribed not for depression, but in my case, it's been prescribed for sleeplessness -- I go to bed and 8 hours later, the alarm goes off and I think to myself, "Gee, I feel like crap. Staring at the ceiling for 8 hours sure is boring..."

Not being able to sleep and feeling tired and run down all the time is a royal drag, lemme tell ya!

Doc assures me this stuff will work... I sure hope so! I don't recall what a restful sleep is like. Honestly, I don't.

Feel free to PM me with info. I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Yup. Went in for blood tests yesterday. They're checking thyroid as well as looking for signs of anemia and of Type II diabetes. What fun. NOT!

{{{ PBS }}} Saw your other post too. Thanks.

I'm just sick of feeling like this ALL the time. Grrr.

I can sympathize with all of you. I left a post under the depression thread about trazadone and some other meds. I have a complete lab work up every two or three months. It is never normal compared to other people, but seems to always be about the same for me. Please PM me if there is anything you would want to discuss in private. I know what it is like to be too tired to move and always feeling like I got hit by a truck.

I've had a pretty rough two weeks and am hanging in there. (By the narrowest of threads)

Well, looks like my instincts and gut feelings were right. Went to the doc today to get the results from all the blood work. Vitamin B12 is low, which accounts for the fatigue, and blood glucose was up (6.3 -- the Canadian Diabetes Association defines diabetes as blood sugar above 6.5...)

*Sigh* ... Not what I wanted to hear! I'm borderline, but I still need to cut all sugar from my diet, reduce the carbs, and walk 2.5+ miles, 6 days a week.

Yeah, I guess you could say I'm having "one of those days" ... Getting to work after having to wait at the clinic forever for the results, only to have to spend 20 minutes under my desk f***ing around with cables and wires to get my damn computer operational is definitely NOT what I needed today!!!

/me needs a hug...

This is simplistic, but have you tried Splenda? It hasn't been long since I cut sugar out of my diet, but I'm feeling very good about Splenda.

I hope things look up for you soon, health-wise.

Yup, we have some in the house; had to have it -- granddad and dad are both diabetic.

If I had to inherit something genetic, why couldn't it have been good looks? Tee hee!

I found a photo of my paternal grandmother taken when she was about 19 and compared it to my high school grad picture. You could barely tell us apart. She was beautiful. But, she had her hair all done up, etc. and I am simply an old hippie with long hair, lots of gray, no make up. I also look a lot like my dad. However, I have inherited all the autoimmune disorders from them as well.

'tis life!
