I think Katie Couric mentioned that book this morning...she loved it, of course.

The reviews seem mixed. NY Times said haunting and poignant. BBC said, oh please, fluffy-clouded heaven. I am paraphrasing, of course. But "poignant" worries me.

LOVE libraries!

Love bookstores too, if I know what I'm looking for. I can be much more adventurous when I can grab 6 or 7 books and try them FREE. If I love a book, I'll go buy it for my little library nook.

While there, I can also pick up movies, CD's....for FREE!

What's not to love?

Well, Cod, see, you may have hit the nail. It is my lifelong objective to recreate here in my own home the Library of Congress as well as Cambridge Press. Call me compulsive, but I am uneasy when I have something that belongs to someone else, but I completely understand the free concept of lending libraries and say YAY! to sharing books. How's that? LOL

I end up paying more in overdue fines than I do for new books!

Well now that IS a shock, LiamFan!!

I can live with that concept, Lou. I have kind of a phobia about having books on my shelves that I don't like. So the library is my testing ground.

I like libraries, but I like to dog ear the pages. Librarians tend to frown on that.

I'm with Lou, I get uneasy having a book I don't own and like Liam, I used to pay lots of overdue fees, which to me is wasted, could have bought a book with those dang fees instead.

I few weeks ago, finished a series of books by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's an intriguing and different series of books. Oh yeah and the hero is a woman! I've gotten hooked on leslie glass, her hero is a chinese american detective named April Woo, outstanding stories.

lol Cod, I just hate bookmarks. I've had too many of them fall out and lose my place. If it's my own book, then the jacket can be used as a marker. The library books I use a bookmark for. No I don't particularly "like" dogearing a book.

BTW, I was at Sam's today and lo and behold they had copies of The Lovely Bones right at the door. It intrigued me so I bought it. That's why I'm dangerous at bookstores. If I can impulse buy at Sam's think of what I'd be like at Barnes & Noble, lol.

Books are alway a good impulse item to buy, Cinderellen, unlike treadmills!
