Sex Education

We all know that teens are pretty web savvy, and some would rather look to the Internet than to Mom and Dad for answers to questions about sex and human sexuality.

The danger in this, however, is that they may well stumble across sites where they clearly don't belong.

Pornography on the web is rampant. I'm therefore suggesting a useful link for educators, teens, and parents. It's at http://www.scarleteen.com/.

This site provides contemporary sex ed information on a wide range of topics from abstinence and birth control to homosexuality; from body piercing to sexually transmitted diseases; from reproductive rights to reproductive health.

I thought it would be a worthwhile resource to share with those of you interested.

I had never heard of a link between abortions and breast cancer before, but aparently it is very real and supposed to be included in information women are given before the procedure...except it seems like most clinics don't explain it clearly. The risks are greatest for young women who are terminating their first pregnancy.

This is the posting where I heard about it, being included because of the reactions of other posters. http://www.breastfeeding.com/ubb/For...ML/020412.html
