I learned Kumbayah in girl scouts.

In school we also learned Swanee River (state song) and Dixie. But it is a little racist if I remember correctly.

We learned alot of songs, they just seem to be slowly creeping out of my memory.

I'm serious: did anyone esle learn John Jacob Jingle Heimer Smith?

Not until they sang it on Sesame Street.

Hey...my message didn't take!

Let's try it again. I learned that in Girl Scouts Brede...how are you doing in the aftermath of Ivan??????

We sang the theme song to Cheers for our high school graduation ...
"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. TAking a break from all your worries sure would help alot. Wouldn't you like to get away?? Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.. bummm bumm bummm bumm and there always glad you came.... you wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same...you wanna go where everybody knows your name....

Kinda like here!!!!

For hurricane update see my post under Midlife, Corn Flakes or whatever. It's a long name. Too tired to think of any song except maybe Amazing Grace. We survived Ivan the terrible.

Of course, only we were singing Country Joe and the Fish. "And it's one two three what are we fighting for, don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam."

I guess one thing we are learning is that everyone has different songs that become the folk songs of their generation.

The rest of the chorus is:

"Five, six, seven, eight open up them pearly gates
Ain't know time to wonder why, whoopee we're all gonna die"

It was sung at Woodstock. You can probably google Country Joe and the Fish to find out the lyrics.

I'll be watching. LOL!

How about making large floor pillows for dogs? I've got so much other sewing to do that I'd rather buy pillows. How is your quilt coming along?
