ROFL!!!! Well who the hell would like Luke? He has no personality. Just a big blah.

Hayley doesn't like The Princess Bride either Liam. You're in very good company.

gsf....I had a young friend from Japan who spoke almost no English. My friend and I took it upon ourselves to teach her the language but ...wow...our two languages are so different. She taught us some Japanese too. She recently moved back to Japan.

Liam....remember Yuki? We miss her.

Yes, I remember Yuki!

My Aunt Masae is from Japan. I always loved when she came to visit. She would cook for us, making homemade noodles from scratch, and sukiyaki. YUM

And she taught me to love unsweetened iced tea!

Now she lives in Texas and tells visitors, "Mi casa es su casa."

She seriously does, btw!

Okay, I went to bed last night feeling like I'd just gulped down a pot or three of expresso! I think that might have been a result of my movie choices of that day. Between volatile Barry Egan in Punch Drunk Love and OCD Roy from Matchstick Men, I was a WRECK!

First....Punch Drunk. Okay ((((Addie)))) ya know I love ya and value your opinions highly. Sometimes though there are just a few things we don't see eye to eye on. Ya know what I'm sayin'?

I liked PDL, don't get me wrong. I like dark movies and I like Adam Sandler, so I was okay there. I actually think it was quite well done. So now that I think of it....I'm not sure what my problem was. OH....I know....I liked it...didn't LOVE it, or wouldn't rank it among my top 20. I know you didn't claim responsibility for my enjoyment so we're fine.

Now...Matchstick Men. Very good! Nicholas does a wonderful job as Roy, facial tics and all! He manages to make one laugh, pity, and admire his scamming genius character in a matter of seconds! There are some nice twists to keep it interesting, of course!

I enjoyed Matchstick Men as well. The twists were very good (they sure got me), and while I don't think the movie itself was Oscar worthy I thought the performances were excellent. Nicholas Cage is always great as is Sam Rockwell, but Alison Lohman was really fantastic. An afternoon well spent.

As for PDL... You may not know what you didn't love about it, but I don't know what I DID love about it, so we're even.

And this weekend.... "Anything Else" opens! The new Woody Allen Movie! I'm hoping to see that and "Lost in Translation" (Bill Murray). The critics are raving and the trailers are great!

I haven't seen it Susie. The reviews sort of turned me off when it was in the theater but it looks like it would be a good rental. I have different standards for rentals.<g>
