I like to be loved but I have to give love also. It is a two way street for me.

I am a LOVER...who also likes to be loved. My relationship now is with someone who both gives and takes...and that's really what needs to happen for a relationship to work. Otherwise... eventually, resentment builds up...it's like a weed!

(I'm doing yard work today..so that's where the weed analogy comes from!! LOL)

I feel that love is a two way street and you have to be willing to bend. I would love to be with a person who can give as much love and they give. Right now I don't have that and I miss it.

Thanks Hon,I needed that. (((((PBS))))) we had a big blow this morning and it got ugly. Then he come in on his break at work as if nothing happened and I'm still so mad I could spit nails at him!!! I just wish he would tell what was wrong instead of the way he acted. Come to find out he wasn't mad at me, he was upset about the noise the people upstairs keep making. Then he yells at me and calls me names. I don't think we are going to make to 3 years as I can't take any more.
Oh and by the way, I love you too.

i know that you are an amazing woman who deserves so much. You deserve light and laughter and love. Hugs, kisses, and someone who looks at you with such desire that just that look lights you on fire!!! Someone who will take you in his arms when you are sad and kiss away your pain. someone who can make you smile with a look and a who lets you be an equal and a partner in life and love. i wish that for you! if he's not that person... you may be right. and... that person IS out there for you!!

Thank you PBS. I'm 51 and I am only staying until the end of the school year then I will be looking for another place. I think Savannah has it right that I should live on my own for a while. She is pretty darn smart for a teenager.

I think you can love without getting loved -- old friends and old loves who have moved on but will u will always love deep down no matter what and forever... doesn't require any returned love, just the memory and the knowledge that they're great and deserve our love

I have a lot of good memories of people I have love and lost either by time or death but I draw on those memories when I need a smile.

To love but not have it returned is heart breaking.

To be loved but not to return it is flattering.

Hence my decision; What is more fulfilling? To be loved.

This was stated above..."to love someone is more important , to dedicate yourself is necessary"...How much do you have to dedicate? If you have to dedicate 100% of your life to your soul mate, then there is nothing left for you. Just MHO

(((((((((((((((( KK )))))))))))))))))))))))

I agree, you have to remember also that you are an individual with needs, desires, hopes, dreams, life, etc. You have to give to yourself as much as you give to others, or you deplete and you have nothing left to give to anyone..including yourself.

did that make sense??? sigh...too early in the morning for philosophizing! LOL!

I took the question to mean in the cases of unrequited love, which side is it better to be on. I have been on both sides of unrequited love (the loved and the lover) and personally would rather be in love, with all its agony and thrills, and most importantly with the choice to choose how to deal with your own emotions, than having someone love me that I did not love back, and feel the guilt and powerlessness of that. When in love with one who loves you, I still find that loving is what fulfills me most, for although his love for me is warming and wonderful, I would still love him for who he is even if he didn't feel the same for me.
